UWF Women's Tennis Wins Seventh straight match :: Argos sweep doubles matches en route to victory over Berry College 7-2.

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The West Florida Women's Tennis team swept the doubles matches and dropped only two singles matches on the way to defeating #10 Berry College, by a 7-2 score. The 18th ranked Argos have now won seven straight matches, and improved to 8-6 on the season (4-0 in the GSC). West Florida has dominated doubles play this season, as they are now a combined 24-1 at the number one and three doubles positions.

The third ranked singles player, Suzanna Cavalcante, cruised to a straight set win at the number one singles position, while 43rd ranked Paola Arevalo and 45th ranked Renata Mattos also won their singles matches. Mattos improved to 10-2 at the number three singles spot, and is 13-2 overall this season. Cavalcante improved to 8-4 at the number one singles spot this season. The Argos lost the number four and six singles matches to Berry College, while Tatiana Rodriques won at the number five singles spot.

In doubles, Suzanna Cavalcante and Paola Arevalo, currently ranked fifth in the nation, won their number one doubles match by an 8-2 score to improve their doubles record to 14-1 overall this season. Meanwhile, the doubles team of Tatiana Rodriques and Renata Mattos, won 8-6 at the number three spot to improve to 10-0 on the year in doubles matches.

The Argos play again today vs. Cameron at noon at the Skeeter Carson Tennis complex on the UWF campus, with their winning streak on the line.
