The end of the outstanding season came with a 5-1 loss to the Seasiders at the quarterfinals of the NCAA National Tournament played at Homer Park located in Houston, Texas. The Argonauts fell to the Seasiders for the second consecutive time at the National Tournament, as the Argos lost to BYU-Hawaii in last year's national championship match. The Argonauts finished the season with a 17-11 overall record and a 8-2 GSC record.]]></description>

Action begins Wednesday, and continues through Saturday, as the Festival is being hosted by Rice University and the Harris County Sports Authority. Men's golf will start it all off with an 8:35 am tee time on Wednesday, with Women's Tennis scheduled for a 10:30 am match, while the Men's tennis team is scheduled for a 4:00 pm match.]]></description>

The Argos had defeated the Lady Statesmen twice already this year. During the regular season, UWF topped Delta State by a 7-2 score, and then won again in the conference tournament by a 5-3 score. The Argos raced out to a 3-0 lead with three convincing doubles wins, and capped off the Regional victory by winning the first two singles matches to finish.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[In its attempt to achieve its third straight Gulf South Conference Championship, the 16th ranked West Florida Women's Tennis Team (13-10, 4-1 GSC) returned to action this Sunday, April 20th for the final match at the Lagoon Park and O'Conner Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala. The Argonauts faced a very familiar opponent, the all-time rival fourth ranked Valdosta State (11-5, 4-0 GSC). Both teams have faced each other in the final of the last two year's event. Also in the regular season, the Blazers defeated the Argos by a 7-2 score. The Argonauts earned its spot in the final by defeating 5-3 Delta State, while the Blazers rolled 5-1 over North Alabama. In the final match, the Argos had the lead after the doubles. However, the Blazers were too much for the Argos in singles.]]></description>

The fourth ranked UWF men's tennis team, already had the 3-0 after the doubles action over 25th ranked men's squad from BYU-Hawaii. The women's doubles matches were still going on, and the top ranked Seasiders were leading the Argonauts in every doubles spot.
