DECATUR, Ala. - Despite inclement weather conditions that included brutal wind gusts and scattered rain, the Argonauts were able to clinch another shutout win at the GSC Crossover tournament in Decatur, Alabama. Pitcher Jillian LaFrance improved to 13-7 on the season, giving up just three hits in the shutout. The Argos combined for six hits and committed just one defensive error.
West Florida jumped ahead early in the ball game in the 2nd inning when Julie Carroll put one on base with a walk. Pinch runner Franny Bell then advanced on a single from leftfielder Melissa Chastang. With two outs, senior Whitney Gay roped an RBI single to score Bell which would be the only run of the game.
