PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Argos improved to 26-15 on the season with a win in the second game of Friday afternoon's doubleheader. UWF fell 4-1 in the first game, and then rebounded for a win in game two behind pitcher Jillian LaFrance. The Argos opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning by Nicky VanCamp, and then added a run in the fourth inning, thanks to a double by Stephany Aguiliar and an RBI single from Heather Bell. LaFrance ended with a two hit shutout, to improve her record to 11-6 on the year.
In game two, LaFrance and Wisconsin OshKosh starter Katy Sullivan were locked in a pitchers dual, with both pitchers striking out seven batters thru the first four innings. However, the Argos batted around in the top of the seventh inning and scored sevens runs to end up with a 9-0 win. Caurie Miller and Whitney Gay both blasted a home run, while LaFrance, Aguiliar, and Taren Walton added hits in the seven run seventh inning.
The starting pitchers combined for 20 strikeouts, and the game was just 2-0 going into the seventh inning. The non-conference doubleheader had the Argos batting in the top half of the innings for the second game Friday, and they scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning. LaFrance closed out the bottom of the seventh without a hit and finished with two strikeouts to end the game.

Nicky VanCamp, one of the leaders in the conference in on-base percentage, reached base three times with a single and two walks. Aguiliar had a pair of hits and scored twice to help lead the Argos to the doubleheader split.
The Argos will travel next weekend to play conference foes North Alabama and Alabama Huntsville, in doubleheaders. All four games will be broadcast on stretch internet.
