Tweleve student-athletes have been named to the NSCAA/adidas All-South Region First Team, while Anna Thorsteinsdottir, CiCi Marrero and Lindsay Nemanich have all been named All-Americans under Bartlinski's tenure at UWF.

Bartlinski joined the West Florida soccer program in August 2001 to serve as the co-head coach of the women's soccer team with Bill Elliott. In 2002 he took over the reigns as the new head coach. He came to West Florida from Brevard College where he won two National Championships and posted an outstanding overall record of 195-30-5 over 12 seasons.

West Florida put together the most successful season in women's soccer history in terms of wins, during the 2005 season. The Argonauts compiled a 20-2-2 record, the most wins in team history. West Florida also captured their first South Region title and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Quarterfinals.

In 2007 came the same success Bartlinski has seen in the past. The team ended the season with a 15-3 record and earned a birth into the NCAA tournament for the sixth consecutive season after they finished as the Runner-Up in the GSC Tournament. Dernelle Mascall set the single season record for goals scored with 23 and was named as a Daktronics All-American. The Argonauts also broke the record for fewest goals allowed in a season with 8.

Bartlinski's first taste of a Gulf South Conference Championship came in 2006. On a team led by NSCAAAll-American Lindsay Nemanich, the Argos posted a 15-3-2 record while winning their first GSC title since 1999. They advance to the Regional Final where 19th ranked Argos fell to No. 5 Tampa 2-0.

In his first season at West Florida, Bartlinski earned his 200th career win at Tampa as the Argonauts finished the 2001 season with 18 wins. In 2003, Bartlinski led the Argonauts to another 18 win season. Bartlinski's 2003 team set the school record with 85 goals scored on the season.

A two-time National Junior College Association of America National Coach of the Year, Bartlinski developed a strong soccer tradition at Brevard. From 1996 to 1998, the Lady Tornados won 68 matches in a row en route to consecutive national championships. Brevard also set six of seven national records in the NJCAA, including consecutive wins (68 from 1996-98), most season goals (201 -1998) and fewest goals allowed in a season (3 -1996). In his five national championship appearances, Bartlinski guided Brevard to a post-season tournament record of 12-2-1.

Under his leadership, Brevard boasted 25 NJCAA, NSCAA and NAIA All-Americans, and two National Players of the Year. In Brevard's first year of four-year competition in 1999, the Lady Tornados climbed as high as 11th in the country out of 222 NAIA teams.

Prior to his stint at Brevard, Bartlinski coached at Lake Mary High School in Orlando. He served as the head coach for the junior varsity program, which captured the county championships twice. Bartlinski was also an assistant coach for the varsity program, a two-time Florida 4A Final Four competitor.

Bartlinski competed as a player at both Brevard and Elon. At Brevard, he received all-region and most valuable player honors while serving as team captain. He was also the team captain at Elon and was named to the all-district team. On the high school level, Bartlinski was First Team Florida All-State selection and the captain of a state championship team in 1979 at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando.

Bartlinski earned his associate's degree from Brevard and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of North Carolina-Asheville.
