         <description><![CDATA[The Gulf South Conference announced the fall sport All-Academic First Team selections, and Honor Roll selections for Football, Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross Country. The Argonauts earned six first team selections, and 37 other earned honor roll selections. West Florida was third in the conference with the 43 selections. Only Harding (73), and Ouachita Baptist (50) had more honorees, and both of those schools have football. In fact, Harding had 30 football players, and Ouachita Baptist had 10 football players, so excluding football, the Argonauts tied with Harding for the top total of 43 honorees.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[When the 2007 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-American team for Women's Soccer was released, it marked the third straight season that West Florida has been represented with an All-American selection. Sophomore forward Dernelle Mascall earned All-American selection, while sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Jones was named Honorable Mention All-American represented UWF Women's Soccer by being named to the Daktronics All-American Team.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[When the selection committee announced the pairings on Monday, the University of West Florida women's Soccer team was selected as one of 48 teams that will compete in the NCAA Division II national tournament. The Argonauts will travel south to play on the campus of Saint Leo University. West Florida will face a familiar foe in the form of Gulf South Conference rival Montevallo, on Friday at 7:00 pm, for the third time in fifteen days. The Winner will take on the top seeded Saint Leo Lions on Sunday at 1:00 pm.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The University of Montevallo Women's Soccer team denied West Florida's bid for back to back Conference Championships. Last year, the Argos defeated Ouachita Baptist 1-0 to win the Gulf South Conference Championship. This season the Argonauts were undefeated in regular season conference matches, and the #1 seed in the tournament. West Florida had just beaten Montevallo last week in the final regular season match, but the Falcons got revenge today, to capture the Conference title. The Argos scored first, and Montevallo tied it before halftime, and then got the game winner from Kami Kapaku at the 85th minute to cap off an exciting second half.]]></description>

The Men's and Women's Soccer teams are hosting the Gulf South Conference Championships here in Pensacola, and both teams are the #1 seeds. The Men are ranked 3rd in the nation, while the women are 9th in the nation. Meanwhile, the 25th ranked Volleyball team is hosting West Alabama Friday night for Senior Night, and the team has already set school records for most overall wins and conference wins in a season. Saturday morning, the men's and women's Cross Country teams are in Huntsville, Alabama to compete in the NCAA Regional Championships.]]></description>
