Dezarn Announces Four Newcomers for 2007-08

PENSACOLA, Fla. - After leading West Florida to their second consecutive Gulf South Conference title in April, head coach Robin Dezarn has announced four incoming freshman for the 2007-08 season. All four student-athletes have signed national letters of intent.

Meaghan Gulliksen will play for West Florida after graduating from Seabreeze High School in Ormond Beach, Fla. Gulliksen was named 2006 most valuable player after posting an average score of 77.6. She finished third at districts with a 75 and followed with a 78 to finish in ninth place at regionals. Gulliksen also participated in the 2006 Western Women's Junior Championship.

Tara Steakin recently completed her high school golf career at Wellington High School in Wellington, Fla. She posted a scoring average of 77 for the 2006 season. Steakin recorded a 74 at 2006 districts and shot a 77 at regionals.

Two other freshmen round out the incoming group. Emily Rone is from Holmes County High School in Bonifay, Fla. She is a two-time individual winner at districts and shot a 74 at the 2006 districts to win the title. Rone also claimed the regional title in 2006 and finished third in 2005. Danielle Smith will also play for the Argonauts after graduating from Middleburg High School in Middleburg, Fla.
