PACE, Fla. - In a gusty day at Stonebrook Golf Club on Tuesday, the University of West Florida women's golf team finished in fourth place at the Bubba Watson Invitational to open the 2008 fall season. The Argonauts finished with a final round of 340 to shoot 661 (321-340) for the tournament, 16 strokes behind winner Montevallo.
Meghan Gulliksen (Daytona Beach, Fla.), competing as an individual, was the top UWF finisher at 161 (82-79). She finished tied for fifth place overall and was 17-over-par. Natalia Espinosa (Bogota, Colombia) also finished in the top 10, placing tied for eighth at 163 (78-85). Rachel Williams (Ormond Beach, Fla.) was two strokes behind at 165 (82-83), and Bhavna Shetty (Mysore, India), Amanda de la Cruz (Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola Catholic High School), and Tara Steakin (Wellington, Fla.) finished at 169, 169, and 174, respectively.
