NEW LONDON, N.C. - Participating in their first tournament of the spring season, West Florida leads the competition after day one of the Lady Falcon Invitational. West Florida holds a three stroke lead over host Pfeiffer University.

Victoria Jackson (Fort Walton Beach, Fla./Fort Walton Beach HS) leads the Argonauts in fifth place after shooting a first round 79 (38-41). Jackson shot a 38 on the front nine followed by a 41 on the back nine. Right behind Jackson is Clara Fornella (Montevideo, Uruguay/Seminario) in sixth place after a first round 80 (41-39). Natalia Espinosa (Bogota, Colombia) stands tied for 11th place. Sarah Nicholson (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls HS) rounded out the West Florida contingent in 19th place with a first round 84 (41-43).

Second and final round action begins tomorrow.
