I would like to thank you for your interest in The University of West Florida. Our soccer program has a rich tradition dating back to 1987 and it appears that our best days are ahead of us. Since 1995 when the Argonauts moved from the NAIA we have exploded on to the NCAA Division II scene. With several national rankings to our credit, the highest of which was a seventh place finish in 1998, West Florida is one of the teams to watch from the South Region every year. Participating in the largest Division II Conference in the country our soccer team has played its way into the GSC Tournament each of our eight years as a member and have won the season ending tournament involving our conference teams four times. We have had All-Americans, All-South Region players and many All-Conference players. Some of these individuals have even been drafted and gone on to play professionally. Our team also enjoys a great deal of academic success as well boasting a team GPA of over a 3.0 well above the student body average.

The University of West Florida is located in Pensacola Florida. Our beautiful campus is on a 1000-acre wildlife preserve. We also have property at the beach and just added 600 additional acres to our main campus. It is one of the smaller universities in the state system with an enrollment of just below 10,000 students. This enables students to be in smaller classes with more one on one attention from professors. UWF offers over 60 undergraduate degrees and many quality graduate degrees as well. Pensacola Florida is a fantastic city with a combination of history, culture, and possibly the world's most beautiful beaches. The metropolitan area has a population of about 365,000. All of the activities available in most large cities - concerts, theatre, fine restaurants, excellent shopping, nightlife, and even some minor league professional sports.
