PENSACOLA,Fla. - The Argonauts Men's basketball team heads to Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Monday for a rematch of last Tuesday's exciting overtime game. William Carey University (5-1) trailed most of the game Tuesday night, but tied the game with 30 seconds left, and then out-scored the Argonauts 17-7 in overtime. West Florida will get a chance to redeem themselves, in the rematch, beginning at 7:00 pm. The game will be broadcast on Stretch internet, with the audio stream available by going to goargos.com, and looking for the stretch internet link on the right side of the page.
The Argonauts (2-2) are being led by Josh Jackson at 14.5 points per game, and Ryan Henry, who is scoring 12.8 points per game. Meanwhile, starting post player Charles Bouie is leading the entire Gulf South Conference in blocked shots at 3.5 per game, and has a league high 14 blocks so far this season. Wing player Kenny Holmes is the leading Argonaut rebounder at 8.3 per game, which is fifth best in the conference. Point Guard Deondre Boynton is tops in the GSC with just over seven assists per game.
As a team, West Florida (2-2) is leading the conference in Field Goal defense, as they are holding their opponents to a low 36.1% shooting percentage. After the rematch at William Carey Monday night, the Argos return home for a game on Wednesday, as they will host Columbus State in a 7:30 pm start time.
