Durosier Earns All-GSC Second Team Recognition

Feb. 28, 2007

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After a record-setting season this past year, senior Barry Durosier (Orlando, Fla./Niagara Univ.) earned honors from the Gulf South Conference. On Tuesday, Durosier was named to the All-GSC Second Team. He is the first men's basketball player to earn All-GSC honors since Kendrick Johnson in 2004.

Durosier placed in the top 10 in numerous single-season offensive categories. He set the single-season scoring record with 595 points, shattering the old record by 82 points. Durosier also set single-season records in field goal attempts (420) and field goals made (201). His 22 points per game was the second-highest single-season scoring average. Only Moochie Norris's 23.6 points per game in the 1995-96 season was higher. Durosier also finished in the single-season top 10 in three-point field goal attempts (168), three-point field goals (65), free throw attempts (155), free throws made (128) and free throw percentage (.826).

Durosier tallied three games of at least 30 points, including a season-high 31 points against William Carey. He scored in double-figures in all but one game this season and scored at least 20 points in 17 of the Argonauts 27 games.

Durosier will graduate this spring with his master's degree from West Florida.
