PENSACOLA, Fla. - West Florida (9-15, 1-8) has an opportunity to knock off one of the best teams in the NCAA Division II, Montevallo (19-5, 8-1). The Falcons are the 22nd ranked team in the country, and are riding a 10-game winning streak.
Montevallo has won the last five straight games with West Florida. In their last meeting, Montevallo defeated West Florida, 90-70, at UM. Barry Durosier and Deondre Boynton each tallied 15 points. Marcus Grant and Andy Beauchamp each added 10 points. Beauchamp had four blocks. The Falcons shot 54 percent from the field. They were led by Greg Brown's 27 points, including five three-pointers.
In their last game, UWF dropped an 89-57 final at West Georgia on Tuesday. Durosier led UWF with 15 points. Grant and Beauchamp each scored 10 points.
Durosier broke the UWF single season scoring record previously held by Doug Linville's 513 points in the 1968-69 season. He broke the record with his 19 point effort in the win over Palm Beach Atlantic, 82-60, on Saturday.
