PENSACOLA, Fla. - West Florida is desperate to seize a victory tomorrow night at home against NCCAA squad the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. The Argos last win came at home in a conference game on January 6 against West Georgia. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 pm tip-off time.
The Argonauts lost their ninth consecutive game Thursday night against William Carey University, 87-73. Barry Durosier led UWF with 22 points. Daniel Alcorn had 12 points, and Andy Beauchamp added 10 points and six boards. West Florida is still looking for their first road win of the season (0-9).
West Florida had defeated William Carey at home on November 25, 85-69. West Florida is 8-14 overall with five regular season games remaining on the schedule.
Palm Beach Atlantic is 3-21 on the season, with wins over Northwood, Florida Southern and Puerto Rico-Bayamon. They are led by Derek Barnes and Sean Tucker. Barnes averages 14.4 points, while Tucker averages 13.6 points per game. The Sailfish were 6-24 last season.
West Florida is 3-1 against PBA all-time, including a 100-69 win over the Sailfish in West Palm Beach, Fla. last season.
