High School: Played four years at Mandarin High School for Coach Terry McCarter. During his senior season, he averaged 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game....He won the Leadership award during his sophomore and senior seasons...was the MVP during his junior season, and made the All-Gateway team, was 3rd team All-City, and Honorable Mention for State 6A.

Personal: Son of Jody and Pam Ammons...has a younger sister, Courtney...majoring in Constructional Engineering.
