2005: Finished the season with a 4-3 record and a 3.11 ERA... Went 2-0 in six conference game starts... Tallied 40 strikeouts over 66.2 innings pitched... Made 13 appearances and 12 starts... Right handed batters hit just .255 against him... Made the GSC Academic Honor Roll... HIGHLIGHT GAME(S): Allowed no runs on three singles in seven innings, while striking out three in a UWF shutout win over West Alabama... Named GSC Pitcher of the Week for his performance.

2003: Named to the All-South Central Region Second Team... As GSC Freshman of the Year he was named to the All-GSC First Team... He was tied for sixth in the NCAA Division II in wins (11) and first in the GSC... Sawyer was also first in the conference in innings pitched (93.1), fifth in ERA (2.15), tenth in strikeouts (71) and fourth in opponents' batting average (.230)... His 11 wins tied the UWF single-season record... His innings pitched were fifth and strikeouts were tenth in the UWF Record Book single-season... He led his team to a GSC Tournament 9-2 win over Central Arkansas in which he tossed 7.0 innings and allowed just one earned run on two hits while striking out five... He pitched a nine-inning complete-game 8-2 win over North Alabama in which he allowed one earned run on six hits and struck out five... Made the GSC Academic Honor Roll.
Club: Played summer ball for the Medicine Hat Mavericks in Alberta, Canada... Went 4-4 with a 5.56 ERA over 55 innings pitched... Made 10 appearances and seven starts... Recorded two saves and two complete games.
High School: Lettered in baseball for four years and football for three... In his senior year, he went 10-3, with a 1.53 ERA in 85 innings pitched... In his career, he went 20-7 with a 1.32 ERA in 210 innings pitched... He was named the 2002 Player of the Year... He was also named to the All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference Teams... He won the President's Award and the Mike Burnett Memorial Award... He was the team Pitcher of the Year in 2001 and 2002.
