LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - After helping lead the West Florida men's and women's cross country teams to successful 2006 seasons, head coach Matt Dobson recently showed off his own running talents.
Dobson finished second in the 2007 Walt Disney World Marathon, 10 minutes behind winner Adriano Bastos of Brazil. Dobson completed the 26.2 mile course through four Disney theme parks in a time of 2:32.23. Dobson became the first American winner of the Disney Marathon in 2004 with a winning time of 2:27.58.
Dobson was one of 11,500 participating runners. The temperature at the start of the race was 66 degrees, the warmest starting temperature in the race's 14-year history.
