MEMPHIS, TENN. – Michael Padilla and Caleb Carmichael finished in the top ten, but it wasn’t enough as West Florida finished second at the Gulf South Conference Championships at Shelby Farms. It was the second consecutive second place finish at the GSC Championships. For the fourth time in the last six years, West Florida has finished second to Harding. Harding has won the last four GSC Championships.

Padilla was the top Argonaut finisher with his second consecutive fifth place finish at the GSC Championships. His time of 25:30 was the seventh fastest 8K time in school history. Carmichael, who finished seventh at the GSC Championships last year, placed ninth with a time of 26:11. Both Padilla and Carmichael earn All-GSC First Team honors for the second consecutive year with their top ten finishes. Sam Ishee earned All-GSC Second Team honors by finishing eleventh with a time of 26:23.
