Strong Showing for Argos at Pre-Regional

Dade City, Fla. - West Florida finished fourth at this year•s flrunners.com Invitational (Pre-Regional) out of the 14-team field.

The Argos finished two runners in the top ten out of 132 competitors.Florida Southern won the race with a team time of 2:10:51.65. West Florida•s runners collected a team time of 2:13:20.07. The Argos were edged by Division I North Florida and Division II Clayton State.

Michael Padilla posted the third best 8k time in school history by finishing at 25:11.33. Padilla was third overall. Caleb Carmichael (9th) also finished in the top ten for UWF with a time of 26:08.80. Sam Ishee was 27th with a time of 26:59.53

Tyrone Bell of Florida Southern won the race with a time of 25:04.66. Chris Nickinson of Florida State edged Padilla for second place with a time of 25:08.10.

West Florida hosts a dual meet with Spring Hill College on Oct.15 in their next meet.
