Argos Nearly Catch Chargers at UAH Invitational
HUNTSVILLE, ALA - West Florida made a strong bid at upending the defending GSC and South Region Champion Alabama-Huntsville today at UAH's Cross Country Invitational at Sharon Johnston Park. The Argos were runner-ups today to UAH in 15 team field. There were 105 runners at the 5K race.
The Chargers tallied 42 points and UWF had 69 points. Carson Newman totaled 122 points in the third place position. The field included Gulf South Conference schools North Alabama (4th), Delta State (7th), Lincoln Memorial (11th), Montevallo (12th), and West Alabama (15th).
North Alabama's Emry McKay won the race with an 18:23 time. West Florida's top three runners were Dawn Kane (6th) with a time of 20:08, Nicole Stanley (8th) at 20:10, and Diana Sitar (15th) who clocked out at 20:36.
