West Florida Runs Away from Division II Schools at UAH Invitational
HUNTSVILLE, ALA - The Argos remain undefeated against NCAA Division II schools following their second place performance today at the Alabama-Huntsville Cross Country Invitational at Sharon Johnston Park. West Florida came in behind winner Jacksonville State, a Division I institution.
Jacksoville State finished with 37 points to UWF's 53. Alabama-Huntsville was third with 86 points. The field included 12 schools and 92 runners. The race included Gulf South Conference schools North Alabama (5th) and West Alabama (6th).
West Florida was led by Michael Padilla who finished third in the 8K race with a time of 26:33. Caleb Carmichael crossed the line in fifth place at 26:44. Sam Ished landed in the top 10 by finishing 10th with a time of 27:24. Jacksonville State's Josephat Waweru won the race with a time of 26:18.
