West Florida Defeats GSC Rival Valdosta State
Pensacola, Fla. - Blazers runner Melissa Daugherty recorded the top
individual time, however UWF outmatched VSU overall by capturing second
through seventh place in the field of 19 runners. West Florida scored
20 points to Valdosta State's 41.
Daugherty
finished with a time of 20:49. West Florida's Nicole Stanley finished
second at 20:58. Dawn Kane was third with a time of 21:14. Diana Sitar
followed in fourth at 21:49. Naomi Evangelista was fifth at 21:56, and
Kim Gallagher landed in sixth at 22:08. Margaret Harder rounded out UWF's
top ten finishers in seventh place at 22:09.
West
Florida improves to 2-0 on the 2005 season. They defeated Belhaven College
last weekend, and travel next weekend to the Alabama-Huntsville Charger
Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 10.
