BOSTON, Mass. - Rain and windy conditions did not stop West Florida men's and women's cross country head coach Matt Dobson from running on Monday. Dobson was one of the thousands who ran in the 26.2 mile course at the 111th Boston Marathon.
Despite less than ideal conditions, Dobson finished 112th overall with a time of 2:39.35. He was one of 20,348 runners to complete the course. Robert Cheruiyot of Kenya won the marathon after crossing the finish line with a time of 2:14.13.
Dobson had run in two previous Boston Marathons. In 2002, he finished 94th out of 17,000 competitors. Two years later, Dobson posted a 49th place finish with a time of 2:39.29. Dobson had posted a second place finish in January at the Walt Disney World Marathon (2:32.23).
