Gilbert Makes Strong Showing at Florida State
TALLAHASSEE,
FLA. - The West Florida women's track team made a respectable showing
at Florida State's Snowbird Invitational last Friday and Saturday (March
4-5).
Teaetta Gilbert (pictured) highlighted the two day event for UWF. Gilbert finished a strong fifth place in the long jump out of 19 jumpers. Gilbert leaped 5.23 meters in the finals. She also landed in 15th in the 100 meter dash, with a time of 12.92.
West Florida sent eight runners to compete in the 1500 meter run. Naomi Evangelista was the top UWF runner. She finished in 19th place, with a 5:15.25 time. Kim Gallagher finished with a 1:12.43 time in the 400 meter hurdles. Dawn Kane's time of 19:08.52 in the 5000 meter run was good for 18th.
