TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The West Florida women's and men's track teams started their spring season at the Florida State Snowbird Invitational on Friday. The Argonauts had several positiver performances in day one of the two day track meet.
Brian Gowin (Pensacola, Fla./Pine Forest HS) dashed out to a 15:24.16 time for 15th out of 38 in the 5000 meter race. Eric Mayes (Pensacola, Fla./South Florida) was 24th with a time of 15:57.06. In the women's 5000 meter race, Amy Lankford finished 15th out of 29 with a time of 18:57.95.
In the women's 3000 meter race, Diana Sitar (Las Vegas, Nev./The Meadows School) landed in fifth out of 10 with a time of 11:15.29. West Florida finished third out of four in the distance medley relays with a time of 13:33.85. As an unattached competitor, red-shirt Bryn Renda finished third out of six in the women's discuss with a 35.09 meter throw.
