PENSACOLA, Fla. - The West Florida men's and women's track teams won all four events today a the Pensacola Double-Bridge Run. Brian Gowin and Lauren Brooks won the 5K race, while Michael Padilla and Dawn Kane captured the 15K race title.
Padilla crossed the line at 46:59, and Kane finished with a time of 1:01:04 to win the women's race. Jordan Theuerkauf finished fifth overall at 53:02, and Justin Dickieson was sixth at 53:45.
In the 5K race, Gowin won by 12 seconds with a time of 15:23. Justin Gates was fifth with a time of 17:18. Brooks won the women's race with a time of 19:12. Diana Sitar ran a time of 19:26, followed by Kim Gallagher's 19:28. Nicole Stanley ran a 19:42, and Jessica Spurgeon finished the race at 19:47.
The UWF Track teams begin NCAA II competition on Thursday at the Appalachian State Indoor Invitational in Boone, N.C.
