Chris Woodley is in his second year as Assistant Sports Information Director under director Jake Fish. He previously spent two years as an intern. Woodley assists the sports information office and represents the athletic office in all aspects of the Argonauts 14 NCAA Division II athletic programs.
Woodley received his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and communications from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. At Point Park, he served as a student assistant in the sports information office while the school did not have a full-time sports information director. Woodley served as a liaison between Point Park's six athletic programs and the Pittsburgh-area media. He assisted in the production of media guides for volleyball, soccer, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball. He created game programs for the men's and women's basketball teams and created an all-time database with statistics and all-time rosters. In 1997, he was a sports information representative when the Point Park men's basketball team played in the Division I NAIA Tournament in Tulsa, OK, and advanced to the Final Four. He was also a contributing writer for The Globe, Point Park's student newspaper and served as a play-by-play announcer and color commentator for Point Park men's and women's basketball teams. During his senior year, Woodley interned in the sports department of WPXI-TV. He also worked in the sports department of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Since his graduation from Point Park, Woodley served as news director for WEXC-FM/WGRP-AM in Greenville, PA. He covered Division III Thiel College football and basketball during the 1999-2000 season as a play-by-play announcer. He also broadcasted local high school athletic games and Little League baseball.
Woodley is the son of Robert and Deborah Woodley. He was born in the Bronx, NY, but raised in Greenville, PA.
