Jake Fish was promoted to Sports Information Director in the summer of 2005 at The University of West Florida. In his time here at UWF, Fish has represented the UWF athletic department as a liaison between the 14 NCAA Division II athletic programs and the local and national media, and has acted in compliance with the Gulf South Conference and NCAA. He has produced media guides for baseball, men's basketball, and volleyball. Jake is also responsible for the start of UWF's Radio and Internet broadcasts for men's and women's basketball, softball and baseball. Fish spearheaded media relations and game operations responsibilities for the 2006 NCAA Division II Fall National Championships Festival.

Fish came to UWF from Jacksonville, FL where he worked as the Public Relations Intern with The NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars for the 2001 season. During his time with the Jaguars, Fish had three player feature stories published in the Jaguars' game programs entitled "GameDay". Fish helped facilitate weekly and daily press conferences with head coach Tom Coughlin, and players such as Mark Brunell, Jimmy Smith, and Fred Taylor. He also produced post season statistical analysis reports for the coaching staff.

Fish received his Masters Degree in sport administration from Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. During his time at FSU, Fish worked as the Graduate Assistant of Aquatic Facilities. He also worked as a tutor in the Academic Support for Student Athletes program. He served the Tallahassee community as a baseball coach at Leon High School for three seasons, and won two Junior Varsity City Championships. He continued his work in baseball as an instructor at the Mike Martin Baseball School (FSU) for two summers.

He received his Bachelors Degree in communications from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH. Fish created and hosted a live call-in sports talk show called "SportsCall" that received a Special Productions Award. He also broadcasted the first live men's and women's basketball games at CSC and served as the play-by-play and color commentary announcer. He worked as a student assistant in the Sports Information Department. Fish was a sports correspondent for the "Colby-Sawyer Courier" and the "Laconia Evening Citizen" newspapers. He was also a second baseman for the Colby-Sawyer baseball team.

Fish is the son of Thomas and Holly Fish.
